You are warmly invited to the 37th German Protestant Kirchentag from 19 to 23 June 2019 in Dortmund. The Kirchentag is a movement reaching far beyond a regular church event. Well-known speakers engage with its topics – encouraging lots of audience participation – in panels, lectures and workshops. Add to that all the concerts, theatrical performances and other cultural offerings, frequently created by the participants themselves, and the Kirchentag – with its over 2500 single events – becomes a truly interactive festival.
The theme of the 2019 Kirchentag is “What confidence is this” (2 Kings 18:19).
Our listing of international contacts is the first site you should visit. You may find that there is a Kirchentag representative in your country. This person will be happy to assist you and to provide you with further information regarding Kirchentag. They may even be able to connect you with a group of people to travel to and attend Kirchentag with.
The registration process for participants begins 10th of October 2018. You will then be able to register for the Kirchentag very easily by using the online form.
You can register yourself or the whole group you are attending the Kirchentag with. When you complete your registration, a bill is automatically created. Please pay this bill as soon as possible if you need a visa because only after paying, you will be able to make a Finance Statement. This statement is needed to receive a Letter of Invitation which you must show during the visa application process in the German Consulate.
Further information will be published here as soon as the the registration for international guests begins.
We are shipping admission passes and programme folders within the EU, in the US and to Canada in the beginning of May 2019. Participants living outside of these areas will need to pick up their admission passes at the International Reception Desk upon arrival in Dortmund.
