Where to sleep

Kirchentag provides this year too accommodations for their guests who own an admission pass for all days.

We will search for hosts in Dortmund and nearby cities like Bochum, Lünen, Unna, Hagen and Witten since we expect not find enough private accommodations in Dortmund. Nevertheless, guests will commute no more than 50 minutes. Further information will follow after the campaign´s start in the beginning of 2019.

The communal accommodation will take place in schools in Dortmund and probably Lünen.

General information for group leaders

  • The leader or the authorized representative need to be available at any time by phone during the Kirchentag.
  • The leader is responsible to inform the group about the Kirchentag and ensure that they do not stay at their accommodation on daytime (between 9 am and 6 pm).
  • The leader bears responsibility that the rules of the house are respected.
  • The allocation of the visitors’ accommodation is organized by the agency of Kirchentag.
  • The International Centre offers information and services for foreign visitors (e.g. personal translators).
  • There are numerous services for people with disabilities. Only when the handicap is mentioned in the appointment process, Kirchentag offers the corresponding information. For further information, please contact the International Visitor Centre.

Information about private accommodation

  • Dortmund´s citizens offer private accommodation without getting any money for it.
  • Visitors to this type of accommodation are housed as guests in private homes and are not entitled to services such as room service, breakfast buffet or something else.
  • The use of telephone and internet is not included.
  • Private accommodation is only provided during 5 nights maximum (Tuesday, 18th June – Sunday, 23rd June 2019). Who wants to visit Dortmund outside this period, needs to find a hotel by his own.
  • There is no access to the accommodation on daytime between 9 am and 6 pm. The same goes for people who are not interested in visiting Kirchentag (for example bus driver).
  • In this type of accommodation, visitors sleep on a simple bed, plank bed or on a mattress on the floor.
  • Individual cooking inside the private accommodation is not permitted.

Information about communal accommodation

  • Visitors of communal accommodations are housed in school buildings. Around 15 persons sleep in one room on the floor.
  • The allocation of the people to their classrooms is organized by the agency of Kirchentag. Visitors can tell us their preferences within the booking process.
  • Please bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat, in principle, we don’t offer any beds, mattresses or something else.
  • Private cooking inside communal accommodation is not possible.
  • Communal accommodation is only provided during 5 nights maximum (Tuesday, 18th June – Sunday, 23rd June 2019). Who wants to visit Dortmund outside this period, needs to find a hotel by his own.
  • There is no access to the accommodation on daytime between 9 am and 6 pm. The same goes for people who are not interested in visiting Kirchentag (for example bus driver).
  • It is generally not allowed to park vehicles (cars or busses) on the school’s premises. Fire and rescue routes has the highest priority. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed away at owner’s expense.
