The Theme: "As much as you need"

Something white, crunchy and edible is falling from heaven – manna. Bread from heaven to assist the struggle for survival in the desert. The story is told in chapter 16 of the book of Exodus. Families go and gather it, some more and others less. In the end, each family has just as much as they need: no more and no less. There are those who collect a lot and those who collect a little. The people gather up varying quantities, but at the end of the day they each have as much as they need – the divine principle of daily bread. Pure and utter trust in God. You will find there as much as you need. Do we always know how much we really need? And what others really need? The theme challenges us to think about the right balance and to consider how much trust and solidarity, how much justice and how high a standard of living we really need.
